A journalist with a national TV channel was attacked with kirpans on Monday evening for attempting to shield a girl, who was allegedly being molested by some youths in Jalandhar. Some shopkeepers, who had tried to come to the journalist’s aid, also sustained injuries. About half a dozen suspects have been detained by police in this connection.
